The Rooms for Peace Mission
Rooms for Peace is a social profit (nonprofit) supporting other social
profits (nonprofits) by connecting like-hearted travelers
and hosts. Our goal is nothing short of revolutionary--opening our homes and our
hearts to the possibility, and the inevitability, of world peace.
Expanded Vision Statement
We realize that peace and social justice may not happen overnight, but they may
happen faster because of overnighters!
How it Will Work
This website will allow travelers to connect with willing hosts in their destination
cities, towns, and countries. The money they would normally spend on lodging is
instead donated to social profits chosen in advance by the host and the traveler
(a portion goes to support Rooms for Peace itself).
The funds are sent electronically to Rooms for Peace and we hold them until we receive
confirmation that the stay was successful from both traveler and host. We then disburse
the funds to the designated social profits.
Project Status
As you can see, our website is still under development. We are in a testing stage
where our traveler-host matching services are getting started. In the meantime, please
join our network by registering yourself. If you have a
social profit organization
that would like to be supported through Rooms for Peace, you can also apply at this time.
