Rooms for Peace Vision
Rooms for Peace imagines and significantly contributes to the creation, development,
promotion and implementation of thriving, sustainable and friendly relations between
and among classes, races, generations, genders, communities, religions, nations,
states, nature, and the excluded.
Rooms for Peace Mission
Many 501c3* organizations and individuals have
room for more financial support for the wonderful work they do. Rooms for Peace
(501c3 status pending) facilitates this support through its web based global network
of grassroots philanthropic travelers, and households. The Rooms for Peace website safely
connects these travelers with households who make room for them in their
hearts and homes. This generous hospitality
frees travelers to direct their lodging budgets, through the website, toward their
chosen 501c3* organizations. Organizations and individuals described
in Rooms for Peace Purpose statement qualify for this funding by their vision, purpose,
and actions in service to the common thread of goodness running through all.
Rooms for Peace Purpose
1) Is to support 501c3 organizations and individuals who create direct peace--relationships based on empathy,
nonviolence and creativity. This relieves suffering caused by direct violence
recognized as physical, verbal, spiritual, emotional, and mental abuse, rape, murder,
and war.
2) Is to support 501c3 organizations and individuals who create structural peace--structures based on social,
economic, political and spiritual interdependence. These are structures of shared
power, creativity, inclusivity, connection, cooperation, imagination and collaboration.
This relieves suffering caused by structural violence that leads to direct
violence of repression, abuse and killing.
3) Is to support 501c3 organizations
and individuals who create cultural peace--culture based on language of
compassion, entertainment of creativity and beauty, media of authentic connection,
sports of cooperative excellence, mythology of heroic service to life, justice of
restoration, and art with vision big enough to reveal and guide us into this culture.
These transformations then become so deeply embedded in our society, as to legitimize
and normalize direct and structural peace. This relieves suffering caused
by cultural violence.
